Is where you are going to live economically stable?  Do the local people work in the area?  Is there a nice mixture of residential and business? Is the community well kept?

What is provided by the local government?  Is there a library, a community hall? Is the area safe? Are the police and fire departments repsonsive?

Are there sport groups in the area? Things for children and teenagers to do?  Senior Citizen center?

Make sure you take a good look around.  If you buy in a bad area it becomes very difficult to sell your house later on.
