Moving is a pain.  So choosing the right moving company helps.  Look for free estimates.  Make sure you show them any large items that can have an effect on the price.

Make sure the moving company has insurance.  If something gets lost or stolen, damaged you are covered.

Make sure they are transporting to your house when you want them there. 

Find out where they will put the items in your new home.  Will they put them where you want them?

Make sure they protect your furniture - no scratches or dents.

You might be able to get a moving company cheaper if you move at an off time. In other words don’t move at the end of the month or on a Friday.

Check to see how many people will be coming to your home from the company.

You should get more than one quote.  Visit the company if you can.
