Buying a condo has many advantages. There are many different styles. Older ones may be apartments classified now as condos. Some are contemporaty and up to date.

One advantage obviously is the price. A 2 bedroom condo will usually always be priced lower than a 2 bedroom single family home. (Unless of course you are going for total luxury) But a lower price is a good starter point for the first time buyer.

A condo also does not have as much upkeep as a home. A condo usually has just a small deck and an area known as a common area that the homeowner’s association (you pay a fee for) takes care of. So this is great if you hate yard work.

There is also a social aspect. You will run into your neighbors at the pool, gym, meetings, etc.

So if this fits your lifestyle its a great place to start.
